Introducing the Continental Ruban. This tire is designed to meet the needs of people who ride on both singletrack and pavement, all in the same journey. The Ruban takes its roots from mountain biking — with its grippy width, aggressive side lugs, and wide profile, this tire can easily be mistaken for a pure mountain bike tire. It also comes tubeless-ready, which is also a key factor of any MTB bicycle tire. Unlike traditional MTB tires, though, which can lose speed on asphalt, the Ruban has an energy-saving center tread pattern. Instead of feeling like you are plodding through mud, the Ruban helps you pedal easily and quickly on paved surfaces.

The Ruban is ideal for an urban commuter or bikepacker, who may find themselves sometimes on a park trail and sometimes in bike lanes moving with traffic.

The Ruban is equipped with excellent tire technology: First, it has the PureGrip Rubber Compound for high grip and long-lasting durability. And second, the ShieldWall System provides an additional puncture protection layer, consisting of a finely woven cross fabric. And third, it is tubeless-ready, which allows you to run lower pressures without fear of a pinch flat — and of course, you don’t have to worry about tubes!
